Saturday 3 May (the day before the event)
We strongly suggest that if you can, complete your late entry on Saturday
(the day before the Event). Competitors in all events should attend the
the Event Compound, Belmore Hotel rear Garden area, Crn High St and St
Andrews St, Maitland 1.00pm to 4.00pm.
We can accept entries on Sunday 4 May up to 1 hour before your race
start. Entries will be closed off to allow processing of late entries
into the timing system. This is also at the Event Compound in the

entry fee closer to the event as it is more administration on
race day. This is to encourage early entries, which allow us to plan the
event resources and in particular order shirts. Without these higher
fees we would likely receive most of our entries in the last week,
making planning impossible.

The event offers a picturesque 4km course in and around the Mall and River Bank of Maitland's CBD. Run/walk either the 1 Lap 4km course, 2 lap 7.75km course or 3 lap 11/55km course.
There will also be a 1609m (one mile) sprint event open to serious and novice runners who would like to run the Mile.

Saturday 3 May 2014 from 1pm -4.30pm at the Event Compound , High Street, (Belmore Hotel off St Andrews St) Maitland.
Sunday 4 May 2014 from 7.30am at the Event Compound , High Street, (Belmore Hotel off St Andrews St) Maitland. Register at least 45min before race start.
The course will start in front of the Imperial Hotel down High St to the Mall and east in the middle of the marked run chute. Run/walk through the finish chute and continue down the Mall where runners/walkers enter the closed section of High St and turn left into Cathedral St. Enter the river bank and run/walk down the bike track toward the bridge. Run or walk all the way under the bridge up to the footpath next to Sempil St.Loop to the top of the BBQ area and return to the track heading back to the bridge. Run/walk under the bridge and follow the track right to the top river bank walkway and just past Lavender's Cafe continue along the footpath to the bridge and return to turn right into the carpark. Return to High St via the lane next to the Imperial Hotel and turn left into High Street. Run/walk until the start of the Mall and into a chute to the finish.
Start opposite the Imperial Hotel in High St, run to the finish line and then continue east to turn left into Catherdral St, then left onto the river bank footpath. Run to the top car park and around the back of the shops to the lane next to the Imperial Hotel and left and left again onto High St and return to the finish line. The course is 1609m (one mile). The course start line is around 6 metres wide and will allow for a large field to enter. Seeded competitors will be given pole position. Email us if you wish to to gain a seeded position. This will be determined on race day. Note all entries in the other 3 races are eligible for free entry, but must enter online.

Maitland Mile - $20 or free if entering another event.
Late Entries after 23 April 2014 will incur an additional $10 per entry fee.

Ages are as on race day 4 May 2014. Male and female age categories will be:
Children 8-11, 12-13,14-15, 16-17,
Adults 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+
Medals awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each category.
Categories for the Maitland Mile (1609m) - Male and Female in Adult category only. No Prize money offered in 2014.
Children over 8 years can enter the 4 km and 8 km race. Only children aged 12 years or older can be entered in the 12km run. However all children under 12 years should be accompanied by an adult. Strollers are allowable in the event, however parents with strollers should start at the rear of the pack and at all times allow runners/walkers to pass them.

Blitz Sports Timing will be timing the event with the world famous IPICO timing system. Computer timing chips will be distributed to each competitor. You must wear the chip on your shoe. It must be laced into the shoe. Please remember NO CHIP equals NO RESULT. Interim times will be available soon after the last competitor is finished. Timing chips must be returned at the end of the race . Timing chips not returned will inur a replacement fee of $50.
The race presentation will be held at approximately 1.00 pm at the Race Compound, Belmore Hotel
Left Bag security
A secure bag area will be provided at the Start/Finish area for athletes to leave their personal belongings while racing.
Limited race day parking will be available in the normal CBD parking areas in Maitland. We suggest you park in the undercover parking off Bulwer St or the car park off St Andrews St which is on the river.
There is no shortage of things to do in and around the Race Compound while waiting for runners to finish. There will be food and drinks available at local Mall outlets. So bring the crew to cheer you along!
There is one drink station on the course - at the 2km point near the Sempil St turn point. Water will be available. Electrolyte drink and water will be available at the end of the race.
Medical personnel will be available at the start, on the course and finish Race compound.
Medals will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes in all age categories. Overall Male and Female winners are also awarded Trophies. Random draws will take place during all presentations.
Wheel Chair Participants
Due to the various uneven surfaces a specific wheel chair race or category is unfortunately not possible. We are happy to look at individual circumstances. Please contact us if you have any concerns.
Maitland Sunrise Rotary Club will be providing volunteers and will receive a donation towards their charitable work.
